(Found) Poetry: You Don’t Have the Sense

I dabbled in found poetry a bit in college. One of the early Facebook meme-y writing prompts was putting iTunes on shuffle, writing down the first line of the first 10-20 songs that play, and having people guess the songs. When I got bored with that game, I decided to try and make poems out of those first lines. Thus: found poetry.

Here, I do that but instead of first lines, I just jotted down any lyric that had a sense (or sense-related) word in it.

Last night, I knew what to say,
but you weren’t there to hear it.
This probably sounds rehearsed,
but:

I can’t stand the sight of you now.

I feel so mad, I feel so angry,
I feel so calloused,
so lost and confused again.
I feel stupid and contagious;
